Proudly Made in the USA

Over the years I've lived in quite a few states- Idaho, North Carolina, Ohio and Georgia. I have family even more spread out across Massachusetts, New York, Nevada, Washington, Hawaii, Wyoming, Oregon, California, Alaska and Utah. I have friends in even more states and have visited just for kicks many of the others- I think you could say that I've been all over the US... so I can safely say that Ohio is one of the most "proud" states I've been to. I was a little taken aback when I first moved here and heard of the rioting Buckeyes on game day, saw the overwhelming amount of Ohio shirts and the block O on most vehicles. Living here certainly gives you a feeling of pride- not only for being in Ohio, but for being in the United States.

When my parents started this business almost 5 years ago my husband was just entering the Army- and if you need a dose of "American" just go live near an Army base for a few years- you see eagles on trucks, flags flying in yards, bumper stickers and t-shirts in every store. It really gave me a sense of pride in our country and the soldiers that fight for us. Fast forward four years and we are back in Ohio- the "heart" of America (so name because of the shape) and while I definitely see less "country pride" I am back into "state pride" land, and it is the same feeling of honor to live here.

I am honored to be a part of this state, this country, and this company. Sure, I may not like everything that goes on in our country- I wish I could solve the poverty problem, the crime, and all of the other problems... who doesn't? I am just really happy to be living here, born here, when there are so many other countries out there that don't give us the freedoms we take for granted here, freedoms my husband fought for overseas.

I love our country, and I am so glad to be working for a company that is 100% made in the USA. Our workers mostly come from Ohio, but we have some employees from other states, our products are all produced here in shop (cut to order every day, 7 days a week), our designers are working right here in our office in Ohio and our customer service who is taking your calls is sitting in our office. We go to lunch at local joints (we really love Mellow Mushroom), we sometimes have picnics in the park, and we often open the big doors in back and work with the sunshine. We are all American, and we are really proud of that.

This blog post isn't to put down other countries or other companies that aren't in the US- this blog post is simply because Independence Day was last week and I wanted to let you know that we are an all American company, an Ohio company, and we are a family. I think it is important to support your country in any way you can, and while buying from us over a competitor you find in JoAnnes, Hobby Lobby, or even online may be a bit more expensive- what you are getting is quality. What you are getting with us is American. You are helping our business, our family, right here in the United States- not a big box store, not a Chinese manufacturing plant, America. I feel that is important, don't you?
