You walk into any model home or even your posh friend's place and instantly feel depressed that your home doesn't have the same grandeur that they do- but really, it is so easy to get the same (or similar) looks not only on a budget, but with limited talent!
Below I've compiled the top 5 ways to create that fabulous ACCENT WALL with little to no work... and absolutely NO paint! Now, in no particular order check out my fabulous finds...
Wall Runner Wall Decals- this can't get any easier you get a sheet (or two, or three) of these funky decals and stick them right to your wall. Hang something over them (big art print or family photos) to give an instant 3D chic look. Below are some different options, or you can check out Trading Phrases that carries them HERE. *Note, if you've never used decals they are like a sticker with no clear backing- just the color that applies to your wall and looks like paint. They are about 3 paint layers thick and have about 70 colors to pick from. Basically you just stick them up! Watch an installation video here.
Picture Wall- I know you've seen these, they are ALL over the web. Beautiful all black and white photos in black frames, mismatched frames that all seem to go together, canvases or even photo collage sticks that adhere right to your wall- there are a hundred different ways to get the look and they are all breath-taking! I priced out doing the mismatched frames option myself with some goodwill frames (okay, so I didn't just price it out- I thrifted and bought 17 frames)- but then figured out they didn't match how I'd like, and then I had to print photos to go in each of them all different sizes... and I gave up. HOWEVER, you probably have a bit more drive and dedication than I do! I simply went with this adhesive photo collage for my space (up the stairs) and it stuck right to the wall and was simple and cheap... but I may cut it up and mount the photos later on. Below are some pictures I used for inspiration and the adhesive collage I was talking about.

Triangle wall- I was cruising for ideas and found THIS. According to the blog she only used $3 of white shelf liner and a bit of time. I like this look, but I wonder how it would actually look in person? Send me a photo if you try it! I don't think I have enough patience to cut those all perfectly and then hang them so evenly- mine would look like something my toddler could do- and hey, I might just make her do it!
Family Tree Wall- This one really requires the perfect space and an enterprising mind. I love the concept and would happily do it- I just need to compile all of my pictures first. Now, I mentioned this was a NO PAINT solution, so I found several tree decals on that website I mentioned earlier (why stray, they have the best stuff?) and have linked them here for you. Basically, buy one of these babies, slap it up and apply your family photos either directly to the wall, in frames, or some of the trees even come with "frames" to use. That, or you could just have a sweet tree on your wall. Even better- I like the birch trees (and I've seen people use actual birdhouses on their wall to make this look 3D). Cool!
Let me know if you decide to go with any of these styles- and how much relative effort you had to put into them! I'd love to see how they turned out and maybe do a few of my own. I've already done the Collage and I LOVE how it turned out, but I'm certainly eyeing the trees, too. Good luck, and happy DIY-ing!
